this sunday dawn -- alone.

it is the time of loudest silence

and a space for quietest tears.

between the sadness and the smiles.

 We did a lot of hiking this year. There was very little snow in the Eastern Sierra. Our backyard was covered with Jeffry pine needles -- an enormous amount of work raking it and driving to the dump every day. We are concerned we might lose the trees. Wonderful that we have so many options on what to do. Finally, I got my hiking legs strong enough to hike to McLeod Lake . This is a log tepee some built near the lake -- probably nice place for any bear to hibernate.

First flowers in our front yard. Pity they were covered with another snow dump the next day.

It is hard to garden at 8000 feet up. If it is not the snow, the rabbits and deers feast  on these as their spring 'salad'

Nice to have a backyard for  snow angels.

Snow has not let up at this point -- so much fun relaxing in soft snow.

So you think you have snow? This is the beginning of the enormous amount of

snowful we got in the high sierra. Thank goodness Jeff Perry cleared our driveway.
